Default transmission

I have a 2002 chevy suburban z71, service engine soon light comes on right after i replaced tranny filter and oil.
now my suburban has trouble grabbin into gear when Iput it in drive. When I was taking out the bolts from pan, I notice that the shifting cable runs along driver side of pan causing difficulty to extract two corner bolts where the casing of the lower and higher shifting cable connect. using a piece of lumber I pushed the bracket where the cable is mounted on , out of the way to remove bolts. is it possible that something is wrong with the shifting cable. anyone have any advice or knowledge as to where to go from here. thanks Earnhardt senior fan.

Default RE: transmission

you may have moved the cable so that it wont shift right i would try bending it around a bit and see what happens
