It's slightly hot. The manual says normal operating temperature is 71°C to 93°C (160°F to 200°F).

How's the trans fluid fill? Start the Suburban and let it reach normal operating temperature then check the transmission fill while it's running, in park and on a level surface. If it's low, add some fluid.

How many miles since the last trans flush and filter change? Could just be in need to a flush and filter change. Is the fluid dark? Does it smell burnt?

My 2007 has a different trans but it sits at about 165 °F when it's 100 °F outside.. I added a transmission cooler a few years ago so mine runs a bit cooler than one without. The manual for my model year shows 180°F to 200°F.
