gmc suburban 1993, don't have a clue about mechanical work but i'm willing to learn... i'm having transmission problems, don't go over 30 mph. pulled a transmission out of a 97 and was wondering if it'll work

 

Welcome to Chevy! Can you please describe in detail more of what your Sub is doing. Is it shifting at all, only one gear, two gears...; slipping... revving w/o speeding up - you get the picture - the more detailed info you give, the more help you will get. In this case could range from an easy fix to it's time for a rebuild or a swap.
