Transmission, maybe engine problem
I have a 2000 Chevy Tahoe limited old body style and ever since I bought the truck with 191K miles, I've notice that once the truck is up and running to about 50mph, 4th gear kicks in and the rpm gauge drops to about 1100. So the truck itself has trouble trying to catch speed so it makes this like skipping or clunk type of noise?
But that's also not it, once it's up to like 65-70 the rpm gauge is working at about 15- 1800 rpms on flat roads and no clunking, once I reach a hill or a mountain I obviously lose speed, so I accelerate and voila the clunking gets worse. I've checked transmission oil it's good I've checked engine oil and it's good.
Before I forget also, even when I'm on a flat road, and I try to get a little more speed on the fourth gear the clunking gets worse as I press in the accelerator. Any ideas comments or anything would help.
