Default Trying to Locate Noise

I'm fairly new to this forum and have been picking up on some really good info. Thanks.

Anyhow, I have a '99 Tahoe that I'm starting to notice a strange noise coming from what seems to be on the driver side towards the back. It first starts happening shortly after cranking the engine. After warming up a bit, or reaching my destination and shutting the engine down, the noise continues for about 5 - 10 seconds, then stops. It's not having an effect on starting, stopping, or driving. But, I would like to pinpoint the issue before it becomes a major issue.

While listening for the sound, it appears to be coming from underneath the rear driver side, almost to where the fuel tank is located. The only way to describe the noise is sounds like a whirring sound, or like the sound effects of a robot moving. Thanks in advancefor any valuable input.

I don't think autoride suspension was availablein 1999so I would bet it's the fuel pump. I believe it's normal operation because I remember hearing it on my 97 Suburban.

The fuel pump runs for a few seconds after the engine is shut down.

Well, this morning while leaving for work, she wouldn't start at all. I did hear that whirrrring sound coming from the fuel pump. Can't be the battery because it's brand new and it showed that it is fully charged. I'm wondering if the fuel pump has taken a dive.
