Two Start Tahoe
I recently purchased a 2003 Tahoe LS. I’m having a problem with the starting it. More often than not it will take two cranks to get going. Never 3 and sometimes 1. So far I have taken it to a mechanic who put a fuel pressure gauge on it and noticed no issues and put a cleaner through the engine with no improvement. There is no pattern to when this happens. Sometimes after it’s been sitting over night, sometimes after I just turned it off. It happens when the gas is full and close to empty.
Some things I’ve noticed are the occasional gas smell and a very dirty gas tank door. (I did not mention this to the mechanic because I didn’t notice at the time). I’ve recently cleaned the door and I’m waiting to see if it continues to get dirtier. Any thoughts? I like this car a lot and I’d be so awesome if someone has had a similar issue and can provide some info.
