U-Joints and driveshaft
I am looking for an opinion about my 2002 Tahoe. I noticed a chirping noise the other day and figured the u-joints are getting to need some attention. Heck being a 2002 Tahoe and never being touched, they've done a good job. I crawled under the Tahoe to scope things out and to see how bad the bolts on the u-joints looked, when I noticed how heaver the rust scale is on the driveshaft. several years ago I had to do some work on my brother's Silverado and I swear his pickup had an aluminum driveshaft. With parts often being interchangeable, does it make any sense on swapping out the whole driveshaft with an aluminum one from a Silverado if one even fits as a direct bolt in?
