We have a 2012 crew cab Silverado LT and would like to make it wifi capable. We presently have onstar but not active.

I never understood why anyone would want one stuck IN the car... you can just leave this in the car... or take it wherever.

 

I agree. I put a T-Mobile Sync Up module in my van and it not only works as WiFi hotspot but also tells me if someone has broke into the vehicle, the battery is low, fuel level, DTCs, recalls, etc.
