Upgrading OnStar hardware for turn-by-turn nav?
I have a 2007 Tahoe LS and i just renewed/upgraded to the Directions & Connections plan on OnStar. In order to use the turn-by-turn nav and eNav from mapquest.com i need the Generation 7.0 or newer OnStar hardware. I called up OnStar and they said that I only have the Generation 6.1 hardware.
I was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to upgrade to the newer hardware and about how much it would cost me.
Truthfully, its not that big of a deal because i can still get verbal driving directions anytime i want, but i'm still curious about upgrading my system.
Also, does anyone know if having an aftermarket radio (w/ the OnStar-compatible wiring harness, non-Bose) will affect the possibility of upgrading to the newest onstar hardware?

OnStar VCIM's usually run in the neighborhood of about $300-600. Thats just for the part. I would have the parts dept check to see if you are even able to upgrade passed gen 6.1
The only thing aftermarket decks affect, is the way the onstar comes through the speakers. So as long as you get the right integration module, you should be good to go
