Default Upgrage Brakes

Has anyone upgraded (not oem) front and rear brake rotors and pads on a suburban? Specifically a 2011 era suburban.

What are you trying to accomplish? Faster stops? Less brake fade? towing issue? I think that will direct your options. For me, I looked at upgrading my brakes on my performance car, but the weak point was actually the tires.

All the above...
Also, rotors that don't rust like gm's oem.
I've never been impressed or happy with the braking of the suburban especially when loaded.
I was looking for others that have upgraded to something like powerstops or others.

Interesting. If you think the 2011 is bad, try a 2006. in 07 they finally put real brakes on these things. I had a pulsing pedal and braking shudder, so I replaced the front rotors on mine long ago, and the ones I got at advance auto had painted grey hats, so they didn't rust. I don't recall the OEM ones. I know most newer cars paint the hats.
