Used 2007 Tahoe Questions
I am going to look at a used 2007 tahoe. It is an LTZ with 30,000 miles on it and was wondering what questions i should be asking as this is my first chevy in a long time. For instance, I have heard that every gm vehicle has a 5 year 100,000 mile warranty. If this is correct should this transfer if i do end up purchasing it. I will see if they have service records for it. Anything else that i need to check out/look for while test drivingwould be appreciated.

[sm=welcomesign.gif]to the Tahoe Forum. I believe the 5/50 Powertrain transfers with a new owner. I have a 2007 LTZ and there are a lot of bells and whistles that you will need to check out from remote start to heated washer fluid to V4/V8 mode. So read up as much as you can and do a very thorough test drive.

RE: Used 2007 Tahoe Questions
I purchased my 2007 LTZ with 32,000 miles on it from an individual owner who took care of it. Your warranties are transferable. You have 6000 miles left on the bumper to bumper. My local Chevy dealer that had been looking for me but never came up with an LTZ used sold me the GM extended warranty for $1700 for a 60,000/4 year warranty. He made a point of telling me he knew I gave him a chance so he gave me an employee discount. Not sure he did or not but it sure was a better price then anyone else gave me. The drive train warranty is good till 100,000 miles.
I haven't had problem one thus far and I've put 4000 miles on it so I'm quite sure if it has any problems about to happen the original owner sure didn't know about them.
Guvner..

RE: Used 2007 Tahoe Questions
The GM bumper to bumper 3/36,000 along with the Powertrain 5yr/100,000mile warranty are attached to the vehicle not the owner so it does not matter who owns the vehicle and there is no transfer fees.
Some manufacturers offer long warranties but most are not transferable and they will not cover wear only part failures, if your GM engine starts using oil (due to piston ring wear) during the 100K warranty it is covered but if this happens on a Chrysler for instance it would not be covered, they consider it normal wear.
