Default Used EBCM Programming

My EBCM in my 2006 Z71 Suburban has failed. Rather than pay the huge sum for a new one I figured i'd take my luck with a used one on ebay. Will it need to be programmed as well? Or is that only needed with new ones? Also I have an actron CP9680 can you program it with that, from what Ive read so far youre just programming tire size.

You might try ebay with the same generic suburban. Then get specific with an 06 suburban Z71 that can program with your vin.

true programming requires connection to a gm server.

tire size selection can be done with a scan tool....this is done to correct the speedo. this is not programming a module.

the used ebcm; it may plug in and work but to get it the original factory programming your truck was built with would require a dealer. Cost would be around 1 hour labour time.

Thanks for all of the quick reply’s guys. I’ll call my local Chevy dealer and see what they’ll want to do it.
