Default Washer Fluid Leak on my 1999 Burb

Well, I hadn't used the washer fluid spray in ages. Literally. So I didn't miss it at first.

Earlier today I tried to use it, I heard the fluid pump going, but no fluid ever arrived. So I first checked that there was fluid in the reservoir, and there didn't seem to be. So I filled it up, and tried again. Heard the pump, but still no fluid. The first thing I thought to check was clogging of the fluid jets, but then I noticed a ton of washer fluid leaking out from under the truck, just behind the driver's side front wheel. Just a shot in the dark, but I'm thinking it's a loose hose or something of that sort? Is this an easy DIY fix? Any advice?

Thanks.

Welcome to the forum

I'd be willing to bet the tank is cracked... or its leaking from the pump housing

Thanks for the quick reply. It was bubbling a bit around where the tube in which to pour the fluid meets the tank, but no where near enough to produce the volume of fluid that leaked out. I didn't notice the leak til I ran the pump, would this mean it was the pump and not the tank?

Welcome to the forum.

I'd check the hose as they get hard and brittle w/ age especially when they use plastic tubing. Don't ask me how I know.

best way to tell is to get the tank out, if I recall you can access it by removing the aux battery tray....
