Default What is this?

It's located under my 2000 suburban. It ties into the big harness that seems to go to the oil level sensor......then the starter.

It's melted but it looks like it use to be some sort of relay that burnt up.

If anyone can help me figure out what this is I'd appreciate it.

Thanks

the orange piece plugs into the harness.

Im wondering if it has something to do with my AC because the AC stopped blowing cold last week and I dont remember seeing this before. Not saying it wasn't there or in that shape, I just dont remember it

Possibly some kind of thermal protection for the A/C or as you said, a relay.

Does the compressor clutch still engage?
