Gixxer, they are the GM ones. I got the "molded for use with factory running boards"

They have the slot in the molded portion where the board sits. They aren't what I would call 100% perfectly designed but I was able to get them to sit just fine.

It is not a true chrome. You can cut it with a utility knife. The Cowles stuff is the same thing I bought. I paid around $15 a piece for the two packs I got.

This company does not seem to make anything wider that the 3/4". If you find another company I would get the 1" for everything.
Thanks...I'll do some checking this weekend. My local Autozone only had 3/4" and 2".....hopefully I can find some 1" to do the back and the sides. It would save me a lot of money...if I can't get it done I will probably end up going to a GM dealer and ordering some Denali assist steps or going to a Chevy dealer and getting the oval tubes put on.....

Completely agree with 1" over the 3/4" if you can find it, especially on the back, anything bigger wouldn't work. Measure your surface area on the back, it should be about an inch. X2 on the utility knife.

Yes! It looks like that would work. It also looks like it is made by the same manufacturer "Cowles". In hind sight, I wish I would have done 1 inch instead of 3/4", but oh well, I traded in that ride for a Denali.

Yep...everytime I see a Escalade my wife says, just trade it in...what a beating I would take...price an '08 2wd...MSRP for same stuff as on LTZ is $65K...assume they take off $10k (very unlikely) and I get $40K for trade (very unlikely) it wouldb be a $16k swing when it was all said and done..unjustifiable....looks like I will be ordering the stick on crown molding...HEHEHEHE!!! Thanks!!! And if that doesn't look good I will continue my pursuit to get some Escalade assist steps or go with the oval tubes.....

OK...got the 1" molding last night. Measured along the back and cut a piece of the molding using a utility knife (cut like butter)...I put the 1" molding on and let me tell you, it was a piece of cake and it looks GREAT!!! Can't wait to put it along the assist steps. My wife even said how great the back looks with the extra row of chrome..really finishes the back off. She was afraid when I told her I was putting on a chrome 'sticker'.

Cut it and just pealed off about 6" of the backing at a time and stuck it to the stock trim and continued this till it was done. And let me tell you, I don't think I could get it off if I wanted too. With the 1" wide 3M, it is held on VERY solid. I may have just saved myself $$$$$$ by not getting the tubes or Navi/Esky assist steps.

Right on! Yup, it was probably the most bang for the buck mod I have ever done. Post some pictures when you're done.
