Default What size is the CD player?

I have a 2001 Suburban with a cassette stereo with a CD player placed further down in the center console. The CD looks, from the outside, like a standard 5.25" CD form factor.

Now, what I want to do is to remove the stereo and replace it with a car computer, and replace the CD with a 5.25" USB front panel.

However, before I start ordering stuff, I need to know if it's really a 5.25" form factor, or if I need to do it some other way, preferably without having to tear things apart (I intend to let professionals do the installation).

So, anyone who knows if a standard 5.25" front panel will fit?

The head unit is DIN and a half.

Check Crutchfield to see what would fit.

Thanks, but it's not the head unit I'm asking about, I've already got that covered.

It's the CD reader that's further down, in the lower center console. The one that looks more or less like a computer slot in CD.

Down where the cassette deck is in this image:

Edit: Here's a low quality image of a setup like mine:

Edit 2: Here's just a console of the same model. It's the hole at the top I'm curious about:

You still might want to call Crutchfield to see if they have any ideas about the size of the slot.

I guess I'd never seen the CD slot down there. My setup had the CD slot in the head unit, and the casette slot down in the console.

Again, check with Crutchfield. If there's a more comprehensive car audio source, I'm not aware of it.
