hi, my first post on this forum. i recently bought a 2008 suburban and i was wondering if anyone can tell me how to find out for sure if my truck is a LT or LS. according to the dealer (when pull the VIN#) it is an LS, but on the side of my truck it said LT.

The VIN should be the say all but then your vehicle could have had LT additions put in / on therefore it could be an LT that started out as an LS
what color are your door handles, if they are black that is a sure sign of and LS as LT's come painted body color or chrome

 

it is also very possible that at the factory bubba put the wrong decal on the vehicle, make sure both sides say LT or LS...
My mom bought a new 1987 Camaro one time that had one painted and one black side view mirror on the doors....The dealer corrected it but it was odd that no one noticed it until she had gotten it home.

 

thanks for the reply, the door handle is painted the same color as the body and there are LT letter on both side of the truck.

 

Sounds to me you have an LT , but it is possible that the trim level for the 08 may have included the painted handles for the 08 for the LS trim but I'm going to go with its an LT
