what's missing???
I just got an '01 'Burban. It has a drop down screen that looks OEM. When I picked it up, there was a remote control and two pairs of headphones sitting on the second row seat. I looked all over this truck for some sort of dvd player or vcr or SOMETHING! But nothing, I did find a couple of rca's, a mini headphone jack, a noise reducer (inline w/ the rca's) and a small black connector with two wires (one black, one red).... all under the center of the second row seat. Does anyone have any idea what is was that was under there, and if it was OEM or aftermarket??
Also, how hard is to to replace the sub in the left rear panel in the cargo area??
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

if you have the factory drop down, this is probably what the remote and headphones go to, the extra stuff is probably from the previous owners amp and subs...they took out the meat of their equipment and left the simpler items the line in to the amp , noise filter and probably a amp turn on wire.

sounds like an aftermarket install. All those wires are what connects to a dvd player. RCA's for the audio\video, connector for power\ground, and the 1\8"jack for the remote sensor. Under the seat is a common spotfor an aftermarket dvd player.
If it was factory, then those wires wouldn't be there
and the sub is a pain in the butt

ok, thanks for the replies. The drop down does look like factory, but if it is, where is the dvd player supposed to be? And what exactly is the remote supposed to be controlling? I figured the wires were to some sort of video player considering it had the typical red, white, and yellow rca's (left, right, and video). The 1/8" headphone jack, the connector with the red and black wires, and the little RF frequency selector I forgot to mention that's hanging from the trim by the driver side rear door... those threw me off. How do you turn the monitor on? with the remote?

It's aftermarket
if it were factory you would have a dvd player as part of the screen.
Here's what you need to get it working

aftermarket?? even though the "screen" is part of the overhead assy. that has the controls for the rear a/c, blower and temp. *****??? I can believe the wires and whatever they were attached to might be aftermarket, but I find it hard to believe that for the screen.
maybe I should post a pic...
