2007 LTZ suburban. Crap load of miles. Went in for a vibration check, found out it was my other wheel bearing so now i can replace both, but not to the tune of $500 that was suggested to me. I know parts cost, but whats the best available wheel bearing for the 2007 model that will ont die in 6 months and doesn't cost $180 each.

 

I put Timken hubs on mine which is a very good brand for medium money.

the most important thing is the proper spindle nut torque

 

Good point, the OP called it a bearing, when in fact it's a hub assembly for the particular model.

 

Why is that?

 

the bearings need the tq to keep them together. if they dont have that tq or too much it will cause the bearings to fail faster, at one point i didnt realize how important the tq was and would even suggest taking the cv shaft out on 4x4 applications to identify what wheel it was coming from. this was till "tech2" pointed out in his shop the bearings would pretty much be ruined just driving them into the shop without the spindle nuts TQ and theyve had to replace some from the guying the same thing. it was also told to me from a bearing dealer at napa that its the most over looked thing and will cause the bearings to fail
