Default wheel speed sesnsors

My 04 Tahoe LT with Stabilitrak is experiencing frequent "traction active" messages and engine retard. This is dangerous when half way through or turning left or right at an intersection. How do I remove the wheel speed sensors and what service do they need?

Here is a write up that I followed when I did mine a while back. You might have some slight differences but it is the same principle.

Default 2001 tahoe abs issue(wheels speeds sensors)???

Yes the issue I am having is the abs system is kicking on low speeds as well. I have the fuse out becuase i cant stop at low speeds. One mechanic told me its the main pump but I think its this. So besides scraping the rust should i buy new sensors and if so GM or aftermarket? Rockauto had dorman which are pretty good i here.
