Default Where is your trailer plug mounted?

Sorry, don't know the technical term for it. I bought a trailer receiver hitch and bolted it on, and then I bought the quick connect wiring kit for the trailer wire harness to plug into. It came with a bracket to mount it with, but I opted to drill a hole in the bumper for a cleaner install.

Where are yours mounted? I'll post a picture later.

First of all, what year Tahoe/Suburban are we talking about here? Secondly, are you asking where the trailer plugin is located on the factory towing package?

Below is a picture from my 2007 Tahoe. The plugin is located to the left of the Chevy Bowtie hitch cover. I believe the previous model Tahoe's had it mounted underneath the rear bumper (still on the left hand side of the hitch receiver), but I am not 100% sure about that.

I hope that helps, but without more information I am not exactly sure as to how to answer your question.

Sorry, wasn't thinking and posting quick.

This is a 2005 Tahoe with an aftermarket hitch.

This is how I ended up mounting the hitch and plug. I didn't like the plug hanging off the bottom of the bumper.

That's okay, I just wanted to provide you with the correct information based on your exact model and year.

I think where you ended up putting the plugin looks just fine. In fact, it looks pretty darn good for an aftermarket job. Nice work!!

Thank You! I was a little nervous drilling through the bumper (especially since this is the wife's ride and I'd never hear the end of it if I screwed it up!)
Once I got the hole through, I was alright. I like the looks of the finished product. Looks more "stock" to me and that is what I was going for.

how about a "how to"
just kidding!!!
hey I personally don't like the plug above the bumper like on my truck, the previous models had it just below the bumper and it was just fine to me, but now you can actually step on it if you are not careful, but o well what was GM thinking?

A "How To"? I wish I had taken pics along the way, but I'm not taking back apart to do it again! I figured someone had already done this before...

Default Any regrets?

Advanex, if you're still around, I am getting ready to to this very thing. I installed a Draw-Tite Ultra Frame and there's no room in front of the hitch to put the plug. I will try to do a video on it to add to your post, but am wondering if you've had any regrets? Any issues?
