Whiplash Suspensions
Don't know if this is the right place to post this, but wanted to get the word out-
I began a project to lift my Tahoe with 10" of suspension lift, but did not want to go with a straight axle conversion. I, like most Americans today, was on a tight budget. My searching brought me to a company called Whiplash Suspensions, or aka Fab-It Customs in Clovis, CA (or Fresno). I was given a quote promptly for the requirements I discussed and I should have seen the handwriting on the wall when they required 100% up front payment, but I complied (dumbass).
My problems are still continuing today. Their 7-10 day lead time quickly turned into over a month. Once the kit was shipped, it was missing alot of very important components. They would not answer the phone, would not return calls, would not respond to emails or faxes. I finally received the important components (which again I had to eat the freight on!!) after threatening with legal action.
Now that I am struggling to install the kit, I am finding that the parts are poorly designed and do not "bolt on" as the company claims. I am also finding that more hardware and brackets are missing like strut brackets, rear brake lines, rear sway bar mounting hardware, etc. I am spending more time and $ fabricating my own custom parts.
At this point, I don't know if I will even continue the project, but I already have alot of time and $ invested.
Long story short- DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY- I learned the hard way- but want to make sure that NO ONE else makes the same mistake. I reccommend spending the extra money and going with a quality kit like Full Throttle or BDS.

10" is a LOT of lift... I hope you planned for all the other problems with that much lift... Driveshafts / joints / tires / wheels / gearing / etc etc... it never ends

First of all, forget 10" of lift on the IFS. It's just not going to hold up to anything more than cruising the street. I'm from the valley, and this isn't the first horror story about these guys. I figure you went with them because no one else had a 10" lift for the IFS? Why? Because it's not a good idea. If you want that much lift, a straight axle conversion is the way to go. I know you've already spent big $$$, but you know the saying about throwing good money after bad?
Could not agree with you guys more........."if I knew then, what I know now"
No doubt I would have gone straight axle. You are also correct with the assessment that the lift is only the start of the expense. I have had to replace the front drive shaft, fabricate a new longer rear drive shaft, change gears, and it just goes on and on..........

After more blood, sweat, tears, beers, and alot more $$$- I finally have a suspension that I am happy with. This is not just a pavement cruiser- it has already been tested and gone where few other fullsize trucks tread.
I can finally say that after all the extar modifications and fabrication of better or missing parts- I am happy with the results.
