Why do the '03, '04, '05, and '06 Tahoes all sound different when starting? Is it just me?

Default Why do the '03, '04, '05, and '06 Tahoes all sound different when starting? Is it just me?

I have a 2003 Tahoe LT 5.3 and my friend has an '05 Z71 Tahoe and it sounds differently when cranking. The '05 cranks longer and doesn't have the click before firing. My aunts 2002 Escalade did the quick crank thing, where it would click loudly then fire up. However, her '04 and '06 Escalades didn't do this. My '03 turns over a time or two, then clicks, thenfires up. I mean, it sounds great but I was just wondering about the difference. I kinda like how the newer ones crank for longer and do not have the click right before firing. Do I make any sense at all? I'm sorry if this sounds really crazy, but I have wondered this for a while and have observed this same trait on numerous Tahoes, so I decided to give it a shot and ask you guys. Thanks
