Default Wife got her magnaflow muffler installed

Man after some dilberation on the phone (she was at our muffler shop and I at work) we decided to do muffler sans resonator. And it was a wise choice. This exhaust sounds BURLY!!! start up sounds great and when she gases it man that's a scary sound. She said that there's not a lot of drone in the cabin which was important to her. Our muffler guy (Bud) at Mesa Muffler in Costa Mesa did a bang up job. She said he spent more time making sure the tips aligned properly with the contour of the bumper.

Glad we went w/ the dual tips. When i get a chance i'll record the exhaust note and upload it.

Oh and her rear tow hitch cover came and I installed it. Man the template sucks! the mounting bracket as shown in the instructions made it to deep for the cover's tab to lock into place. I adjusted it and the fitment is a lot better.

Looks great. which magnaflow did you get? Was it a cat back kit or just muffler and tail pipe. In either case what did you spend (if you don't mind) and what are the part numbers?

I'll have to find out the muffler part number, it was just a simple muffler tip back.

We paid $325 installed...fair price for our guy that took his time aligning things. Sound is wicked, nice low rumble and when you get on it, it roars!

Good choice! I have installed the same except with only one tip. The sound is great when you get on it, but the noise resonates in the cab when you drive on long trips.I am looking into installing the dynamat in the rear to help reduce the noise.

that's interesting because we get absolutely no drone in the cab...at the most when it's under extreme load when you're climbing a hill. I love the sound though.

Looks sweet!! It appears that the exhaust tech spent alot of time lining it up correctly.

I had Magnaflows once on another vehicle {cat back} Sounded great but developed more and more drone at crusing speed as time went on. I finally had enough and went back to stock. I think it had more to do with my old car having dual exhaust and an x pipe installed. I was told as the mufflers break in they will get louder over time.

I agree, when I first installed the exhaust I heard no noise in the cab. Within time it did get louder so the drone in the cab was really deep and loud especially during long trips.

I wanted a valid warranty so I got it here. Magnaflow 16836. Also some of the forum sponsors usually have a magnaflow exhaust sale going on. Either way its a great exhaust system, sounds great, and very easy to install.</td> </tr></tbody></table>

SLP has a resonator replacement pipe that has dual outlet tips on it. Have read some good reviews on it from actual users.
