Will a 99 350 timing cover fit a 93 block
I have recently pushed a rod in my K1500 Suburban. I found a motor in Toledo Oh as I am from Lima, Ohio. They told me they would be open on New Years Eve. When I woke up and called, they said they were closed due to an emergency. So I then found the next closest was in Indianapolis. When I got there I found it was a 93 350. It had been recently overhauled, you could see the cleaning marks on the cylinder walls. The pistons were new too. I brought it home, switched the heads, Intake, and put it back in. After hooking up everything I found that the 93 Harmonic balancer did not have a crank sensor. My 99 needs this to start.
I am wondering if anyone knows for sure if a 99 timing cover fit a 93 block. I went to the auto parts store to compare the gaskets from the two years. The gaskets are different but the holes line up. The 99 gasket will cover 2 holes the 93 gasket allows for but the needed holes line up.
Any thoughts???
