Winter beater?
So I have been looking around for a 4X4 winter beater for quite some time now, I already own a 2001 Chevy 1500 2wd which is a great truck never any problems, anyways I want to get some opinions on purchasing a Tahoe/Yukon.
I've come across many of Yukons/Tahoes in Ontario and most of them are rusted out, but one in particular that was about $600 that was rotted out but not many miles and runs just fine, it's a 2001 Yukon 5.3 4X4 and my only concern is it needs a ton of work to get it on the road (safety) but it runs and drives fine, fully loaded, do you think I should consider it? it's only $600 with the exception of getting it safetied, and of course in Ontario everything rusts!
I just want a truck for the winter and not have to worry about it getting beat up over time, I don't expect much from it either. Most trucks over 7k still have rust and high mileage so I don't see much re-sale value if I ever had to sell it.
What do you think?
Opinions are greatly appreciated.
