XM Radio
I just bought an '07 Tahoe with the LT2 package. The radio is the am/fm cd but the truck did not have the option ordered that gives you the xm radio. There are features on the radio though that when you push the catagory button you get a message that xm functions not installed. Is there any way to get this xm feature on my radio? Possibly install an antenna package and maybe software or more? Does GM or Delphi have a radio exchange program?
I really miss xm radio and do not want to go with an aftermarket add on system. Thanks for your help in advance.

RE: XM Radio
Brian,
You can have XM installed in your Tahoe.
GM part #17801150 is about $200 and integrates into your factory stereo and is the exact same as if the truck was built at the factory with XM.

RE: XM Radio
The headliner has to come down and the roof Onstar antenna replaced with the provided XM/Onstar antenna and wires ran and the digital receiver and bracket mounted behind the glove box and plugging it all in.
The normal install time is 2 hours but most good installers can do it in about an hour.

ZX, thank you very much for the information but just a little more please. Are good directions included or available as I am a little curious as to how to take the headliner down without damage and I do have the optional side curtain airbags and would hate to set them off. Can the antenna be put on the dash? I had a Delphi Roadie 2 and put the antenna on the dash and it worked amazingly well.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

RE: XM Radio
The kit comes with very detailed instructions and the antenna can be put on the dash but will work and look best if installed in the proper local.
Most dealers charge about $100 for the install and that is probably your best bet.

No that's an aftermarket version. GM has it's own "upgrade". I would recommend the GM kit.
