Default Is your XM expired?

Got an email from GM stating XM is on now until May 31st for promotional reasons. I let it expire because I wasn't impressed with it. I'm not sure if this is just mine, a regional thing or for everyone. Just thought I'd pass it along.

email:

Dear GM Owner,

Over two million songs. Live sports play-by-play. One-of-a-kind music shows. And that's just a portion of what you've been missing. But we don't want you to go another day without it. So from now until May 31, you'll get a preview of the sensational entertainment and programming on XM Satellite Radio. All at no cost to you.

You're just a step away. All you need to do is push the band/XM button and enjoy.

i agree. XM is not impressive at all. it's not for music listeners. more for talk radio / news addicts. guess that's why it got bought out by SIRIUS. i think the change over is supposed to happen later this year.
personally, i run my ipod nonstop.

I too let mine expired. I got the same email today about the free trial. I will never renew my subscription. I probably had it on a total 10 minutes during the free 3 month trial.

Big, are you getting thepersistent mail and phone calls too? Man, these people are relentless. I had to literally tell them "Your product sucks and you calling constantly isn't helping your case"

HAHA. Yep, I was getting numerous mailings, emails, and phone calls. Finally I stopped the calls. I went off on the salesperson and told them I dont want their crap, and I believe in free radio! There was more to it, but I am not going to pay for radio when I can get it for free. I also dont mind a little comentary, personality, and commercial break action!

You are not kidding, but I actually like the programming. I do listen to sports and talk radio though and there are about 5 or 6 stations that I like for music.

If you hold out long enough they will offer better deals. I paid $60 or $70 (Cant remember of the top of my head) for the whole year.

My issue isn't with the programming so much. I've found a few of the channels that I like (mostly:-). But the XM satellites are to low toward the horizon for us folks further North, especially with hills and now the leaves getting back on the trees. On my drive to work I find that the reception is MUCH worse than most of the normal radio stations. :-(

XM isn't as great as I thought it would be.

There are only5 stations I listen to.

Actually 2 stations mainly, I like XL Raw and wifey likes The Heat.
When we don't like whats playing at that time we'll tune to Top20 or Kiss.
Then when nothing good is on all those, we'll check The Boneyard.

Just like free radio, it repeats songs and plays them out.

XM expired on our car, wifey said to leave it off.

We subscribe in the Tahoe. I let it expire initially, but when they called I asked for a deal and they gave me one.
I'm going to cancel it now,but I'm waiting until after our June trip to Cali.

The Comedy stations are good to listen to on long drives, when the wife and kiddies are asleep.

They offered me a great deal to renew for the whole year. It was something like $75 for the whole year. I have Sirius too, but I got it hoping that the whole merger thing happens so that I don't have to have the plug in Sirius radio to listen to Stern. Love to be able to pump Sirius through the head unit, but no luck so far without a 2nd tuner.
