Default 2000 Suburban K1500 Autoride

My Service Ride Control warning light is on. I took it to the dealer, who told me everything is OK with my system, with the exception of the metal rod with the two plastic snap-on ball connectors that connects the front driver's side sensor to the frame. About a 3 inch long part, one of the plastic ends is sheared and no longer keeps the sensor at the correct location. Can anyone tell me the name of the part, part number and source for a replacement? I don't care if it's new or used - just need it before my compressor burns out.

No. Dealer only sells the sensor, which includes the part described in my first message that's broken. My sensor is good, no need to replace it for $200+ to get a $10(?) part. And the delear told me it's a long lead item with no predictability on delivery time.

I doubt that you can find the link rod ball stud connection itself, you will most likely need to purchase the entire link or assembly, however you could try checking to see if you can use the end of rear glass shock absorber they may be of very similar size....getting it off and installed back on could be a challenge..

Best bet might be a salvage yard.

I was headed towards junkyard but when I realized that I didn't even know the name of the system, not to mention the part, there was no way to describe what I need over the phone. I live about an hour from the nearest yard, therefore I pretty much need to know what I need is there before I make the trek... Thanks to all who've weighed in with help!

Bodensrb, did you ever find a solution here? I have the exact same issue and have not found anything at this point.

Thanks!

The dealer sells the rod I have replaced many. You just need to go to the parts department and ask

Default Part

I went to the salvage yard with the broken part, searched until I found one on a wrecked Denali, paid my $20, put it on and drove home with my ride control light off. Very simple fix.

I didn't have any luck with my dealer's parts department. Schematic they showed me had the part I needed buried in the assembly. Hence the junkyard fix.

I'm wishing I had your parts department. It would have saved me 1.5 hours each way, maybe 2 hours tramping around the yard until I found it.
