This is an intermittent problem, but happens daily.
AC clutch will not engage in Auto, when the Sun symbol button is pushed, in defrost or any combination.
I am getting the diagonal slash thru the Sun Symbol when that button is pushed.

I have checked the following and all are working properly, but compressor will not engage:

AC clutch relay - even replaced it
AC charge - when compressor is on - the high & low pressures are good
Low pressure sensor - even jumpered it
Disconnected the battery for 20 min to clear computer
Evap fan runs

It must be some safety device holding it out - any ideas?

hi, just wondering if you ever found out what was wrong with yours? Mine is working intermittently and I have replaced the low pressure switch but can’t figure out why the compressor just comes on whenever it wants, my Freon charge is correct.
thank you. Any help is appreciated. I’m in Texas and heat is awful.

 

By "good" what high and low pressures are you getting, depending on outside temps and humidity? How many miles are on the odometer?
