2005 tahoe transmission

my 2005 tahoe transmission clunks when shifting, mostly from 2 to 3 and sometimes downshifting to a stop. What's the problem? Also clunks more then the water temp is cold and hardly noticable when water temp at normal operating temp.

Welcome to the forum. Might be the torque converter clutch locking and unlocking.
