2012 Suburban LT - when releasing the brake pedal makes a click noise
Hi, I hope someone could help me!. I've been taking my 2012 Suburban to the Carr Chevrolet service department for a strange ANNOYING noise. The noise comes when I release the break pedal. If I am at a stop light and release the break pedal it sounds like "click". It is really annoying when you are stopping on and off. the service department says it is nothing. But it is a real noise. Also, I did change the front break pads with the same dealership service department, so now the front break pedals are making a grinding noise" when I go in reverse and use the brakes. I did complain to the service department assistant manager, and made an appointment to change the break pads. What he explained is that General Motors run out of the original break pedals and they had to put a more generic ones, so I made the appointment and change the break pedals for the "original break pads for the Suburban", guess what...still the noise when I release the break pedal (is a noise inside the car) and still the break pedals are making a grinding noise.
the shift interlock solenoid will energize and click when the brake pedal is pressed. when the pedal is released the solenoid de-energizes. If this is the sound your hearing, its normal. the solenoid is located in the steering column on a column shift truck.
find a same year truck and see if the noise is the same.
