Default 95 Suburban headlights, low off when bright on

This post concerns a 1995 Suburban. When you switch the high beams on, the low beams shut off. So it is a toggle between the two sets of lights. I assume this is the way the car was designed.

I would like to have the low beams stay on while the high beams are on. Does anyone know of a safe modification to make it work this way?

I just put in HID lamps and transformers for both pairs of lights, so power and blowing fuses should not (hopefully) be an issue.

Any suggestions appreciated.

There is a way to do it, or you can purchase a pre-made harness from lmctruck.com. If you decide to do it, you will need a relay to send power to the low beams when the high beams are on and a diode to keep from back-feeding the relay when the low beams are on.
