Recently brought a motor from carolina machine shop. I mabey put 3000 miles on the motor and then it start knocking . Now CME say's that they are not going to honer my warrenty because of M&M automotives failed to call me and service my motor but long story short they are trying to charge me another $875.00 for another motor.

If M&M installed the engine and failed some notification req't, then I'd go after them. There's always small claims court as a last resort.

 

When you bought the motor did they explain to you that you must perform service on the engine at specific times? If they did not then take them to court. Report them to the BBB. Report them to the state attorneys office. Make it miserable for them.

 

I can't help but smell a skunk on this. 3K without a service? This is finger pointing (imo) on a bad build. Is there still such a thing of break in oil?

 

What kind of a knock is it, a rod knock, piston slap, or more of a ping? Is your knock sensor hooked up and working?
