Angry Im going to blow it up!

Okay, so im 100% new here and have come for help. Apparently I need lots of it.

Recently I was driving my 99 Suburban home and started to get a violent shake. Jacked up the front end and did the left to right, up and down, ect. Tie rods were visibly bad. Replaced them and the went for an alignment. Of course, I was told I had excessive play in my pitman and idler arms... They wanted to charge me $1300 in parts and labor for the repair including the alignment. I told them thank you but I could do a lot of it myself... So i go buy necessary tools and parts. After several hours of labor (not a mechanic) I replaced them, bled and refilled my power steering.

The problem is... THE SHAKING HAS GOTTEN MUCH WORSE! I can even here the tires thumping at low speeds. Still has left to right play. I am stumped, extremely frustrated, broke, and wore out. I really have no clue what to do next.

Any ideas?

What frustrates me the most is the fact I traded a perfectly good Ram 1500 for it. Needed the room for the family I though I was in.

Thanks in advance!
Nick

if the shake happens when cruising, brake not applied and you can see the steering wheel shake; it is probably tire related.

NickH Welcome to the forum... I would concur with tech2 I would at least consider having the tires balanced, if you have lost a weight or gotten water in the tire it will bounce and shake...
You might also consider rotating front to rear to see if it makes any difference, its free and something you can do to troubleshoot the problem..

Might also be a belt separation in one of the tires. Rotating front to back as suggested should tell you. Also a sidewall separation can cause that symptom.
