It's probably a ruptured actuator.

But even if it's just a bad air hose the diff still has to come out of the car. Sorry.

The part is still available but it's the labor cost that will be expensive.

> is the Suzuki actuators the same as the tracker....

The Tracker is made by Suzuki so if the model year is the same the parts are interchangable.

Default The vacuum pump??i have a question or two my self

The 4WD indicator light does not illuminate until the pump pressure reaches 5 psi. Pull the rubber hose off the bottom of the front diff and plug it with a Phillips screwdriver. If the 4WD indicator illiminates after 3 seconds the leak is inside the diff. The pump only affects the front axles. Are you saying the car goes forward in 2WD and 4WD-LOW but not in 4WD-HIGH?
I just purchased a 1999 Geo tracker and found a little motor and looks like a pump jusy laying in the fender well not sure yet if the 4x4 is engaging haven’t really played with it much but im pretty sure the front end is not working correctly my question is could tjis little gagget i found be the pump for the 4x4 actuation
