Anyone else out there with a 2wd 4dr manual transmission have any luck finding a replacement driveshaft? Mine is flopping around behind the carrier and I am having a hell of a time finding a replacement. OR has anyone been able to put a one piece driveshaft in one of these?



This joint has a LOT of play and flops about when not under load

 

Try Rockauto, they have driveshafts listed for both the 1.6 and the 2.0 engines. Check the bearing in the center of the driveshaft as you might only need that. Even if you find a new driveshaft, you will still need the bearing.

I have checked Rock band eBay with no luck. The 2wd manual shaft is very hard to find. The support bearing is still in pretty good shape, but I can wobble the whole back half of the shaft from the joint.
The angle doesn't look too dramatic, which is why I was wondering about a single piece shaft to eliminate this issue.

 

can you not just refurbish whatever worn part is in the joint? I would think the shaft itself is fine.

Trying taking it to a driveshaft shop. They might find a solution for you.

 

I called a local shop this afternoon to ask about it. I'm going to pull the rear shaft this week and take it in to them to look at. Guy didn't sound too sure on the phone, so fingers crossed.

 

If it can't be repaired see if this Dorman drive shaft fits your Tracker. I found it using the Suzuki part number 27100-67D51
The bad news is it's out of stock on Amazon. The good news is it you might be able locate another vendor using the Dorman or Suzuki part numbers.
