Auto Trans Power/Normal Toggle Switch
On my '99 2 Door 4x4 with 2.0 engine and auto transmission... there is this toggle switch next to the transfer case lever labeled power and normal. Manual describes it only vaguely as providing more power when needed... What exactly does this toggle switch do? Does it change the rpm or torque shift points of the transmission? Seems unlikely that it alters the overall gear ratio. I have not had occassion to tow yet (jon boat/motor on trailer) down any jeep trails, which is probably the only reason I might use it, but I have no idea what it really does.
Thanks for any info.

When driving on hilly roads, use Power position. Helps keep tranny from shifting so much and makes it downshift sooner when you go up hills. These trackers don't have much power in overdrive, so the power mode helps by adjusting the auto transmission shift points. There's also the OD on/off switch on the shifter. I frequently use both, as my commute is real hilly.
