Default Bad tranny?

I have an 03 ZR2 4x4 with 129k miles.
She runs phenomenal but when I put it in reverse or drive and hit the gas the RPMS just shoot up like I’m in neutral, no movement whatsoever lol. I don’t hear any grinding or clunking noises though.
I’m going to make an assumption and say the tranny is SHOT and it needs a new one, right?

Wouldn't you have the same symptoms with the transfer case stuck in neutral?

That means your air pump is working.

I'm not a transmission guy. Your best bet would be to post that question on the Suzuki forum:
(9) 2G (1999-2005) Vitara & Grand Vitara | Suzuki Forums (suzuki-forums.com)
Those guys know Tracker/Vitara drivetrains.
