Default Chevy Tracker 4wd base - AT tires a bad idea?

Hi,

I got the Chevry Tracker 2000 4wd, 2 doors, base model. I am thinking of putting on some AT tires, but worried the weak engine might not be too happy with that?

Anyone tried this and what was the results?

engine will be fine, but your economy will drop slightly, they'll be noisier, and they don't last as long. Do you really need them?

Thanks!

It would be nice to not have to deal with chains in the winter time in the Lake Tahoe area. But, perhaps better to just have two sets of tires, one for the winter months and one for the rest of the year...

Some sage like advice…from my father-in-law: Go as far as you can in 2-wheel drive. Then put it in 4-wheel drive, turn around and go home.
