Default Clunk when tranny shifts first to second

Automatic transmission question. We had a 91 Tracker 4wd auto and always has a little clunk noise when shifting from 1st to 2nd. Didn't do it in 4wd high. We now have a 99 4wd auto and it does exactly the same thing and has since we bought it in 2004. Is this just the nature of the beast or can the clunk be eliminated?

Try packing the yoke in the drive shaft with grease. This usually works.
