Default Drivers door window

The drivers side electric window on our 2003 Tracker seems to have a problem-whenever I raise the glass it shifts forward and jams. I have to physically pull it aft so I can continue to raise it up. I took the inner panel off to look at the window and how it sits in the bottom track and it looks fine. Any ideas?

you had the right idea. Sure sound like something is broken in there. Is the glass secure at both mounting points of the regulator? A glass that is secure at both points cannot move or shift without the entire regulator moving also.

Hopefully this will help. Copy and pasted directly from GM Service Information.
I couldn't get the images to come through.
Condition
Some customers may comment that one or more windows binds or tips forward when opening.

Cause

The run channel bracket may be pushing out on the run channel weatherstrip. Refer to the illustration above.

Correction
1. Roll the window to the full down position.
2. Remove the run channel weatherstrip. If the glass has rubbed through the run channel weatherstrip, replace the weatherstrip.

3. Locate the mold mark on the weatherstrip. Refer to the illustration above.

4. Measure 185 mm (7 1/4 in) down from the mold mark and mark the weatherstrip.

5. Measure 40 mm (1 1/2 in) down from the 185 mm (7 1/4 in) mark and remove that portion of the outer lip of the weatherstrip.
6. Using a soap solution, reinstall the run channel weatherstrip.
7. Operate the door glass for proper operation.

Thanks for the info on the GM S.B. Very helpful. Could you send me a link to the bulletin so I could see the illustrations. It would make it clearer to me-I'm not sure what they are calling specific parts. Thanks.

Actually all I need are the illustrations that go with this bulletin so I can see what specific parts it's referring to. I can give you my email address if you can't post them on this site. Thanks

No problem. Glad I could help!

We only have 1 current customer that brings her Tracker in for service, and she hasn't had this issue yet, so I haven't done one, or else I would lend some tips. Good luck, let me know how it turns out!

Thank you VERY MUCH!! have been having this issue on my 2002 chevy tracker for years now. Some times the window goes up and down no issues, its the cold weather that really makes it worse. I had GM replace the motor 2 times already as per warranty work. But clearly the ******** knew it wasn't the motor but insisted that was the issue. As soon as I get a mild day to fix it and I`ll post step-by-step pictures of the repair.

Thanks!
