My 2000 Tracker handles like crap!
I have a 2000 Tracker 4-door 4x4 4cyl. It's a great looking thing but it handles very badly. I replaced the bushings and even the shocks but I still feel every little bump and it still pulls to the left or right everytime I hit a bump, rock or pothole. The mechanic doesn't have any idea except it's a crappy vehicle to start with. I like it and want to keep it but I need to do something about it's handleing. Any ideas? I want to put wheel spacers on it too about 1.25". Will that help at all? Is my steering loose? Someone please help. Anyone have the same problems?
we just bought a 1999 and it had the same problem....we originally thought it was a tyrod end but when we pulled it apart the control arm bushing, where they meet the a frame is completely rotted off.....it is an expensive part if yours is the same.....we are going to replace it.....
Hey, this is a Tracker, not a Vette! It has tall tires and a higher ground clearance than your average car. Look up at your driver's side sun visor and see what it says.
I just bought a 2001 because I live in a very hilly area of Northwestern NJ were it snows way too often. This is going to be the first time in 26 years that I don't have to worry about rescueing my wife in a Noreaster. I love this car! it's our snow wagon.
