Default No Power at all

Good afternoon,

I dropped a ratchet handle and shorted my positive battery terminal to my air intake manifold. Since then I have no power to the car. It will not turn over, the headlights don't come on...nothing.

If I let the car sit for a while the power is restored until I attempt to start the engine. I can turn on the lights, put the key in the run position and everything works.

When I attempt to start the car I get the one little click and everything goes dead.

if you have (a friend) with a similar self inflicted problem, please let me know how you solved it.

All of my fuses are good including the big 80 amp main fuse.

Thanks

Test your battery or substitute with a known good one. Do not jump start the car. Your battery may be so damaged it drags down the booster battery.

That's because when you shorted the battery positive to ground none of the current went through any of the fuses. If the battery did not get destroyed, you could have a bad ground cable back to the battery (there are two) but I would start with the battery.
