Question shock absorber noise?

I have replaced the shocks and after about 6K miles I am getting a clanking and spring sounding noise of 'bing or bong' when going over some roadway surfaces. The sound is hard to describe but maybe like the spring is jumping out of the seat base or top receptacle and it has a definite sound of a spring recoil . The spring does not seem to reflect this when looking for signs of movement. ??? any help

Check your shocks to make sure all the mounting bolts are tight. One of them may have come loose.

That was the most obvious things and that was the first things looked at. Also check all the suspension connections for any loose cannons that might be causing this weird noise.
