I have 2 02 trackers, on both trackers the rear door only opens about a foot and will not open any farther. Am I missing something that keeps either door from opening all the way? Thanks

 

I just managed to open the frozen locked tailgate on a 2002 which I bought Friday. Would appear that the movement of the tailgate door is guided by a hydraulic type cylinder mounted at the bottom of the door with its arm mounted to the vehicle. Perhaps yours is frozen once it moves a few inches. If you have not already figured this out, I suggest you disconnect the arm at the vehicle. With that done, only the door hinges are involved in door movement. I have greased the door hinges on mine as it appears the tailgate has not been opened in a long time.
