I've got an 05 Trailblazer. About a month ago, I noticed that I had to be within about 5' of the vehicle before the key fob would unlock the doors. I thought it might be because of the battery, so I had that replaced, but the problem remains.

Yesterday, the red light stopped blinking on the dash. I could still start the car and drive, with no problems.

This morning, the red light is blinking as the car sits in the garage (I've had no need to go anywhere so haven't started it.)

I'm not a mechanic, but can follow detailed instructions, if someone had some ideas of what I could test or look at.

I hate to take the car into the garage if I don't have to. But, I don't want to get stranded somewhere either. I'll be driving to my relatives' place in a few weeks--8 hours away--so I'm concerned about something happening while I'm either on my way or when I get there. (Their town is very small and the nearest Chevy garage is probably 100 miles away.)

Does anyone have a clue as to what might be going on?
