Default 2003 - Fan speed 1 not working

Hello, I have a 2003 Trailblazer and the fan speed 1 stopped working but all the other speeds work. I've searched around on the internet and can across other people with similiar issues and they state it's the blower motor resistor. Does that sound like my problem?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Mike

I wanted to post the follow-up to my question in case anyone else has the same issue. After no response to my post I decided to try and replace the blower motor resistor card - and that was the problem. Got the part @Autozone for $25 and took 15 minutes to install. Found a good article that explains the replacement procedure: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Where_is_t..._works_on_high

Good luck!

Default RE: 2003 - Fan speed 1 not working

Gentlemen,

Thank you very much for posting this on the Chevrolet Forum. This is the second time this forum has helped me. I too had had the same issue where the fan motor failed in positions 1 thru 4 and only worked in position 5, High. The failure in my case was the same part, "Fan Motor Resistor". Called Auto Zone and found the part for $25. Installed it in about 20 minutes and fixed the problem. I decided to become an active member to this Forum and Hope I can help others from my lessons learned. Thank you again...

Mel
