Default 2003 Trailblazer Problem with the camshaft Position Sensor Circuit

I drive a 2003 Trailblazer, 6 cylinder, 2WD. For a while I have been getting a P0340 code and my OBDII reader stated: "camshaft position sensor a circuit bank 1 circuit malfunction". The first thing I did was I replaced the camshaft position sensor. I cleared the code and drove. The code came up again, so I replaced the connector because it was looking rough. I cleared the codes and drove one more time. I am once again getting the same code. If im correct the other end of the wires that go to the CMP go straight into the PCM. Does this mean my PCM is bad or am I not aware of a component in the circuit?

I don't think you've ruled out all other options yet

1. replacement sensor faulty
2. wire harness or grounding fault
3. camshaft reluctor ring condition.
3. PCM

Where is the wiring harness? Do the wires not go straight from the PCM to the CMP connector? Im not doubting you I just do not have much knowledge in the electrical part of these cars.

That's what I'm talking about. The wiring between the sensor and PCM. Make sure it isn't broken, chaffed, corroded, shorted etc.

This article might help you understand how to diagnose the P0340 code:
