Default 8.1L Camshaft Position Sensor Location

Can anyone tell me where the Camshaft Position Sensor is located on my 2001 8.1L Vortec (in a 2500HD Silverado)? The code that came up was "P0342 Camshaft Position Sensor A". The second part of my question is whether changing this sensor is a job for a do-it-yourselfer. Thanks for your help!

should be on the timing chain cover like any other chevy motor, the code depends on if there are any other active codes, if just cmp sensor code then should fix problem
